  • There are four matches per day through the group stage

The BBC and ITV are once again sharing television rights for the 2022 World Cup.

Not all of the FIFA World Cup 2022 TV schedule has been confirmed just yet, though all times are locked in and so are the channels for the group stages.

The broadcast split for knockout matches will be confirmed at a later date, and BBC have first pick of the semi-finals.

The first two matchdays see four consecutive fixtures each day. There is opportunity aplenty to place an online football bet, starting out with the opener between Senegal and the Netherlands at 10am on November 21st.

England, one of the pre-tournament online betting favourites, get their campaign underway with the second match of the tournament at 1pm on the 21st.

The final round of group fixtures sees group opponents kick off at the same time – it will still be four matches per day, but they will take place across just two kick off times.

Where To Watch 2022 World Cup

Whether settling in on the sofa at home or trying to keep up with the latest World Cup odds action on the go, BBC and ITV have you covered.

Respective streaming services enable fans to watch the matches live and there will be a raft of on-demand content.

ITV and BBC will make it easier than ever to follow your World Cup predictions.

Many of the usual faces will be on punditry duty across the two channels, but the line ups are yet to be confirmed by the broadcasters. As ever, there’s likely to be a couple of big-name surprises in the studios.

Niall Sloane, ITV's director of sport, spoke about their coverage of the tournament.

"The World Cup is now in focus and we're delighted to be able to bring viewers coverage of some of the standout games of the tournament across ITV channels and our new free streaming service ITVX, which launches this autumn.

"We have picks one and two of the round of 16 and pick one of the quarter-finals. The ITV Sport team is now looking forward to bringing viewers the very best of the first winter World Cup."

Meanwhile, BBC’s head of televised sport, Philip Bernie, was pleased with the fixtures they have landed.

"We have two England group games - their opening game with Iran then the enticing match against either Wales, Scotland or Ukraine - as well as the heavyweight clash between Spain and Germany, big games involving Brazil, Argentina, France and Belgium, and the first pick of the semi-finals.

"With extensive 24/7 coverage across BBC TV, BBC iPlayer, radio, online and social media, the World Cup promises to be a huge event to wrap up a major sporting year on the BBC."

Of course, such a stacked schedule on weekdays means that the accessibility of highlights packages is particularly important.

Information on recap shows will be released closer to the tournament. Fans will be able to rewatch matches on the respective streaming services or listen to radio commentary.
