Savinho, sometimes known as ‘Sávio’, is a Brazilian winger for Manchester City. A full international, Savinho became a household name during Girona’s spectacular 2023/24 La Liga campaign.
While Girona defied the betting markets to qualify for the Champions League, Savinho was proving himself as one of the best creators in world football.

A mazy, electric dribbler, he swapped Troyes – a member of the City Football Group – for Manchester City in the summer of 2024. Girona are also part of the City Football Group.
Unlikely to be a favourite to open the scoring in Premier League betting, Savinho is primarily a creative player with more assists than goals in 2023/24. At the time of writing, he’s only scored 16 club goals in his career.
How Much Is Savinho Worth?
Savinho’s net worth is reportedly around £4 million, as of January 2025. Still only 20 years of age, Savinho’s net worth is bound to rise in the years to come as he continues to benefit from playing for Manchester City.
The Brazilian’s wages with Troyes will have been tiny compared to what he’s on at the Etihad Stadium. Off-field income was likely limited, too.
Endorsement deals won’t be flooding his agent’s inbox just yet, but that could change if he impresses on successful City teams.
A wearer of Nike Mercurial Vapor boots, Savinho is bound to receive a significant sum from Nike through their partnership.
Salary
Reporting from Spotrac claims Savinho is on £40,000 per week at Manchester City.
This makes him one of Manchester City’s lowest earners and ranks outside the 320 highest-paid Premier League players.
Ashley Young, Axel Tuanzebe, and Armanjo Broja are just three of the players on the same wage as Savinho. Savinho’s earns 10% of what Kevin De Bruyne’s salary and £260,000 less per week than Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish.
Scott Carson and Rico Lewis are the only senior City players earning less than Savio per week.
Transfer Fee
Manchester City signed Savinho for a deal worth £30.8 million in July 2024. Having signed the Brazilian from a fellow member of City Football Group, the transfer attracted plenty of controversy.
Troyes, also part of City Football Group, had signed Savinho from Atlético Mineiro for a club-record €6.5 million, with an additional €6 million in performance-related variables.
Loans to PSV Eindhoven and Girona meant Savinho never made an appearance for Troyes. The club suffered consecutive relegations, the second of which was only avoided due to Bordeaux’s financial issues.
Named in the La Liga Team of the Season for 2023/24 after notching 19 goal contributions and leading the league in completed dribbles, Savinho had helped Girona to qualify for the Champions League.
The process of transferring between clubs into the same ‘group’ is a modern phenomenon. It was always likely he would end up at City if he performed at a high level with Girona.
Still, this was a huge move for Savinho, who was joining a dominant City team.
When the signing was announced, Savinho said, “I’m so happy to be joining Manchester City, the Premier League champions and Club World Cup winners.
“Everyone knows they are the best team in the world right now, so to be here is very exciting for me.
“I’m excited about the chance to work under Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest coaches ever, and someone I know will help me improve even more.
“I had an amazing time in Spain and I’m looking forward to a new challenge of playing in the Premier League and alongside some of the best players in the world.
“I can’t wait to meet the fans and my new team-mates and hopefully be a part of bringing more success to City.”
Txiki Begiristain, City’s Director of Football, said, “Savinho is a very exciting player and I think the City fans are really going to enjoy watching him.
“What he achieved last season at Girona was remarkable and he is already a full Brazil international. He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond.
“We are totally confident in his ability. He is still young and has the potential to become even better, and everyone knows that Pep is the best at helping players develop even further.
“But he has already shown his huge quality and technical ability and is an exciting addition to our attacking area.”
Previous Clubs
Savinho joined the Atlético Mineiro academy in 2015. He shone at youth levels, earning a spot on the Brazil under-15 team, and securing his first senior contract in 2020, which carried a release clause of €60 million.
Making his senior debut in August of that year, Savinho began to attract attention around the world. He was part of a highly successful Atlético Mineiro squad and scored his first professional goal in May 2022.
In June 2022, City Football Group secured Savinho’s signature for considerably less than his release clause.
He was assigned to Troyes but was immediately loaned out to PSV Eindhoven for the 2022/23 season. He made 17 appearances for the Dutch club.
In the summer of 2023, Savinho joined Girona on loan. He made 41 appearances, scoring 11 goals, across all competitions.
Having represented Brazil at under-15, under-17, and under-20 age groups, he made his debut for the senior team against England in March 2024.
His first goal for his country came against Paraguay in the group stage of the 2024 Copa América.
