Born in County Tipperary, Rachael Blackmore is one of the leading National Hunt jockeys in Great Britain and Ireland.
Rachael became the first female to ride the winner of the Aintree Grand National, taking the race aboard Minella Times in the behind closed doors renewal of 2021.
Just three weeks earlier she was the first woman to the ride the winner of a Cheltenham Festival championship race when she partnered Henry de Bromhead's Honeysuckle to success in the Champion Hurdle.
That was just one of the six winners that Blackmore rode at the Festival that year and was enough to see her crowned as the Leading Jockey, the first woman to win the award.
One year later Blackmore broke new ground when riding A Plus Tard to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup for trainer Henry de Bromhead in 2022. She was the first female to ride the winner of the race.
Rachael turned professional in March 2015. She gained her first success when Most Honourable, trained by ‘Shark’ Hanlon, obliged at Clonmel on September 3rd of the same year and the rest is history.
She still remains a popular pick with punters in the sports betting markets, especially at the big horse racing festivals.
How much is Rachael Blackmore worth?
The racing company owned by Rachael Blackmore, was sitting on just over €1m in accumulated profits at the end of 2023.
Accounts filed by the jockey's Rachael Blackmore Racing Ltd showed profits of €323,024 in the 12 months to the end of last December followed profits of €367,545 recorded the year before.

The Tipperary jockey created history in 2021 when she became the first female jockey to win Grand National in its 182 year history and of course the prize money involved was rather lucrative for the jockey, trainer and owners.
The win earned Minella Times owner, JP McManus £375,000 in prize money. You can check out JP’s own personal wealth article here.
While her exact net worth is unknown, The Racing Post estimate she has thus far earned over €8m in career winnings.
Continued success for Blackmore
At the 2024 Cheltenham Festival Rachael Blackmore secured the first win of the week in the Supreme Novices Hurdle (Grade 1) on Slade Steel.
That was followed with a historic win that saw her becoming the first woman to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase aboard Captain Guinness, who was a relative outsider in the horse racing betting.
She looks destined to continue her successes into 2025.
