With a rookie quarterback, the Bears have shrugged off a rough start to make the most of a softer section of the schedule, which looks to include a Jags side that’s coming to London on the back of its first win of the season.

When Does NFL London Jaguars vs Bears Start?

In the UK, the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Chicago Bears London game is set to kick-off at 2:30 pm. You’ll be able to catch the game on Sky Sports Main Event and via NFL Game Pass through the DAZN streaming platform.

Over in the United States, this means that West Coast fans will need to wake up at 6:30 am to catch the NFL London kick-off, while East Coast fans get a more reasonable 9:30 am start time.

Season So Far

For the Chicago Bears, it’s been all about building up with Caleb Williams – the first overall pick of the 2024 Draft. In his first two games, the performances were lacking, to say the least.

Over the last three games, however, Williams has improved with each week, even to the point of earning a superb QB Rating of 126.2 in Week 5. In the last three weeks, he’s thrown for five touchdowns and over 800 yards.

As well as Williams’ efforts with the ball, the Chicago defence has been stalwart. The team's two losses have been kept to within a score while only averaging 14.8 points against per game.

The Bears’ two losses so far came against the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, they defeated the Tennessee Titans, and now, it’s on to the last of the AFC South. In Week 5, the Jacksonville Jaguars finally secured a win.

Only the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers have allowed more points than the Jags’ count of 143 so far, and even in their breakthrough victory against the Colts, Jacksonville still allowed 34 points.

While Trevor Lawrence certainly showed up in the divisional rivalry game to earn their first win, the defence struggled. So far, the unit sees an average of 11.7 yards per reception but a more admirable 4.1 yards per carry.

Jaguars vs Bears Odds

In the NFL odds, the Chicago Bears are marginally favoured to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in this NFL London game, leading on the moneyline to win.

Given the recent successes of the Jags in London, the fact that they finally won a game in Week 5, and the relative uncertainty as to how Williams will fare overseas, it tracks that the Bears would only get a 2.5 edge on the spread.

Still, the odds are leaning towards quite a high-scoring game, while D’Andre Swift (2.10), D.J. Moore (2.625), Brain Thomas Jr (2.625), and presumed starting RB Tank Bigsby (3.40) get good odds to score a touchdown anytime.

  • Spread: Jaguars +2.5 (1.909), Bears -2.5 (1.909)

  • Total: Over 44.5 (1.909), Under 44.5 (1.909)

  • Moneyline: Jaguars (2.10), Bears (1.75)

  • Total Touchdowns: Over 4.5 (1.70), Under 4.5 (2.15)

This game features among the straight-up betting picks for Week 6 in the NFL, with the leaning going to the Chicago Bears on the spread at -2.5, as well as Caleb Williams beating the over for passing yards.

How the Jaguars and Bears Fare Overseas

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the NFL’s most well-travelled team. Since the NFL International Series began in 2007, the Jags have been to London 11 times

They currently hold a 6-5-0 international record. In their four games since October 2021, the Jags have won three and lost once while going 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

On the other hand, this will only be the third trip outside of the United States for the Bears, with their last two outings ending as a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011 and a loss to the then-Oakland Raiders in 2019.

Lawrence vs Williams

For all of the losses and speculation of the Jags reconsidering their options at QB, Lawrence hasn’t been awful this season. His QB Rating has held rather well, he’s only thrown two picks, and he has six TD passes to his name.

The criticism predominantly lands on him not being able to push the team to a win. A big help against the Colts was that he didn’t hit the turf for the first time this season. In the four games prior, he was sacked 12 times.

He’ll be looking to carry the momentum of his career-high outing against the Colts to London, but this Bears D will pressure him early and often, looking to add to their good-for-fourth sack tally of 17 to date.

As noted, Caleb Williams has been going from strength to strength and now faces a defence that leaks an average of 8.1 yards per pass attempt and 11.7 yards per reception.

However, the sports betting odds are marginally leaning towards Lawrence having more success through the air than Williams. Some of this will be down to the expectation of the Bears going ahead early.

Not only is Lawrence’s under/over higher at 230.5 for passing yards, but he’s also got marginally shorter odds of 2.00 – compared to Williams’ 2.10 – to get the over for 1.5 passing touchdowns.

The NFL London game Jaguars vs Bears could be a high-scoring affair – especially if Williams wants to make the most of the opportunities granted by a porous pass defence. Plus, the Jags have certainly enjoyed the UK of late.
