Football Predictions Tuesday

Celtic v RB Leipzig

Celtic Park will be rocking for this one as Celtic welcome RB Leipzig in this UEFA Champions League fixture on bonfire night.  – Check out our UEFA Champions League odds.

Celtic confirmed their place in the Scottish League Cup for the 37th time in their history, Brendan Rodgers side hit Aberdeen for six at Hampden Park on Saturday evening, they’ve set themselves up with a cup final tie against their bitter rivals Rangers in December. Focussing on the UEFA Champions League, it’s been a very mixed start for the Bhoys, thumping Slovan Bratislava 5-1 in their opener before that horrendous trip to Dortmund (7-1) and then claiming a goalless draw in their last outing away to Atalanta. However, Rodgers’ side know they’ll be going into this one as slight underdog’s given they’ve only beaten German opposition once in their last sixteen attempts, with defeats in twelve of those.

It’s been a tough start for RB Leipzig in this seasons UEFA Champions League, the Red Bulls remain just one of six teams from the thirty-six participants that are yet to pick up a single point from their first three games, with defeats to Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool. Marco Rose’s side also faced defeat for the first time in their Bundesliga campaign on Saturday evening away to Dortmund but will take confidence knowing RB Leipzig have beaten Celtic three times in their last four meetings, including on this ground back in 2022.

It’s going to be quite an atmosphere at Celtic Park on Tuesday night and if RB Leipzig are to get anything from this one, they’ll need to try and quieten the crowd down throughout. It won’t be easy but I think RB Leipzig will just nick a victory in this one. Here you can find all our Champions League predictions.

It’s not too late for RB Leipzig to qualify out of this UCL League Phase, but they need to start getting points on the board as soon as possible.

Borussia Dortmund v Sturm Graz

Austrian side Sturm Graz will take the trip to Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night to face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund ended their three-game unbeaten run on Saturday evening with an impressive 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig, becoming the first team to beat the Red Bulls in the Bundesliga this season, a result which still leaves them seven points off the top in the German top-flight but their focus will swiftly switch towards the UCL. The Prussians have started well in this competition, their 3-0 victory away to Club Brugge was followed up with a massive 7-1 victory over Celtic, Nuri Sahin’s side also went into the break 2-0 up against Real Madrid before ultimately collapsing in the second half and leaving Spain with a 5-2 defeat. Dortmund are just one point behind the top eight and those automatic qualification spots, a victory here could see them climb up the table with just four games left to play.

This is a tough ask for Sturm Graz, despite topping the Austrian Bundesliga, Christian Ilzer’s side just haven’t got going in the Champions League and the odds of qualification are stacked against them given they are yet to pick up a single point from their first three games. Signal Iduna Park is always a tough place to come but made even tougher when you haven’t won an away game in Europe in their last fourteen attempts.

I’ve got to agree with the betting market in this one, I don’t think Sturm Graz will cause Borussia Dortmund any trouble in this one and we should see a comfortable home victory, despite missing ten players.

Borussia Dortmund will be hoping to make it back-to-back finals in the UEFA Champions League, can the Prussians do it again?

Lille v Juventus

The Stade Pierre-Mauroy awaits as Lille welcome Juventus to Villeneuve d’Ascq for this UEFA Champions League clash.

Lille started slowly in the Champions League with a 2-0 defeat to Sporting in their opener. However, since then, Bruno Genesio’s side have put together back-to-back victories in the competition with wins against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, leaving the Mastiffs fifteenth in the league phase, albeit just one point off the automatic qualification spots. Their stalemate with Lyon on Friday night made it eight games without defeat for Lille, they’ve lost just one of their last five UCL games on home soil.

It’s been a strange start to the campaign for Thiago Motta and Juventus, the Old Lady remain unbeaten in Serie A after their first eleven games but remain four points off the top in fifth place, mainly down to the fact they’ve drawn six of those eleven. Following their 2-2 draw with Parma on home soil, they have started to put things right but a 2-0 victory on the road at Udinese on Saturday. Like their opponents on Tuesday night, Juve have also won two of their three games in the UEFA Champions League, their defeat to Stuttgart in their last outing in this competition really frustrated Motta, with the head coach watching the game a few times on the same night, making sure his side don’t make the same mistakes.

Lille are a tough side to beat at home, Juventus haven’t lost a competitive away game in their last nine, I think we could be in for a stalemate in this one.

Juventus will be hoping to end the UEFA Champions League “league phase” in the top eight to guarantee qualification into the latter stages.

Liverpool v Bayer Leverkusen

Liverpool will welcome back one of their legends on Tuesday night, as Xabi Alonso takes his Bayer Leverkusen to Anfield for this mouth-watering UEFA Champions League clash. - Check out our UEFA Champions League odds.

Things don’t seem to be slowing down just yet for Liverpool under Arne Slot, the Dutchman led his team to another victory on Saturday. The Reds had to come behind against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield, their 2-1 win meant they reclaimed their spot at the top of the Premier League following Manchester City’s shock defeat. It’s been an incredible start to Slot’s career in England, Liverpool have played fifteen games already this season, they’ve won thirteen, drawn one and lost just one. They’ve won the European Cup six times before and made the perfect start to this new format, remaining just one of two sides (Aston Villa) to have a 100% record after their first three games.

After their record-breaking season, Xabi Alonso’s side would have hoped to have made a better start to their campaign this time around. It’s not been a bad start but Bayer Leverkusen will be really frustrated with their recent results in the Bundesliga, despite losing just one of their first nine games, Die Werkself have drawn four of their last five games in the Bundesliga leaving them seven points adrift of Bayern Munich at the top. The Black and Reds occupy sixth place in this league format before heading to Anfield as they look to end Liverpool’s 100% record in this competition.

This should be a really good game at Anfield, Liverpool have seen both teams find the back of the net in four of their last five games, I think we’ll see more goals in this one but Liverpool should have enough to take the win. Here you can find all our Champions League predictions.

Liverpool will be looking to hit the jackpot under Arne Slot and claim their seventh UEFA Champions League trophy.

Real Madrid v AC Milan

Real Madrid return to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday night as they face AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League, a fixture steeped in history.

Following devasting flash floods in Valenica, their La Liga fixture against Real Madrid had to be postponed at the weekend. Therefore, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have had a few days extra rest but also a few more days to think about what happened the last time they played on home soil. Los Blancos suffered one of their biggest defeats in El Clasico history, with a 4-0 hammering which has now left them nine points behind Barcelona albeit having played a game less. It’s not been the start we all expected from Real Madrid, they’ve already been beaten in this competition but showed great fighting spirit in their last outing in the UCL to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund, I’m sure the Madridistas will be hoping for a more comfortable evening.

Any hopes of defying the odds and challenging for the Scudetto looked to had disappeared for Milan after their 2-0 defeat on home soil to early leaders Napoli last Tuesday. There’s been a lot of questions asked of head coach Paulo Fonseca especially regarding the playing time of Rafael Leao, the Portuguese player has played just 117 minutes in his last four games. Notwithstanding that, I Rossoneri head into this fixture off the back of a 1-0 victory on the road to Monza but without a goal on the road in this competition in four of their last five attempts, this could be a tough ask for Milan.

I think we’ll see a Real Madrid victory in this one, they’ll be looking to put things right after their humiliating El Clasico defeat.

Real Madrid are kings of this competition having won it fifteen times before, they’ll be hoping to live up to their nickname of Reyes de Europa (Kings of Europe) in May.

Sporting v Manchester City

The Estádio José Alvalade will say goodbye to head coach Ruben Amorim on Tuesday night as his Sporting side take on Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Ruben Amorim will take charge of Manchester United on 11th November, he’s got two games left as the Sporting manager, one of them against his soon-to-be rivals Manchester City. His Sporting side have really impressed, you have to go back to March 2024 for the last time they lost a game in ninety minutes, which came against Atalanta in the Europa League, twenty-eight competitive games ago. The Lions have also won fourteen of their last fifteen games, their only draw within that period came away to PSV in this competition. The Green and Whites have already beaten Lille and Sturm Graz in the Champions League, leaving them occupying that final automatic qualification position and an upset in this one would be a great leaving present for Amorim.

Manchester City remain unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League this season (W2, D1), which leaved them occupying third place and just two points off their fellow Premier League opponents (Liverpool & Aston Villa). However, Pep Guardiola’s side have faced defeat in their last two games across all competitions, the first time that’s happened since September 2023. Their EFL Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur was followed up with a shock 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, a result which has remarkably seen a few Manchester City fans question Pep’s football.

This should be an entertaining encounter in Lisbon, Man City are short on numbers at the back and Sporting will look to exploit that.

Sporting are on their way to securing a top eight automatic qualification spot in the UEFA Champions League.

Football Predictions Wednesday

Club Brugge v Aston Villa

Aston Villa will travel to Belgium on Wednesday to face Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League at the Jan Breydel Stadion. – Check out our UEFA Champions League odds.

Club Brugge have struggled a little in the UEFA Champions League so far, Nicky Hayen’s side have won just one (v Sturm Graz) of their first three games in the competition and now find themselves just outside the top twenty-four places with five games left to play. Blauw-Zwart haven’t had much success against English opposition since their victory over Chelsea back in the 1994/1995 campaign, this is a tough ask for the Belgian side.

It’s been a tough week for Aston Villa, held at home to Bournemouth in the league, followed by an early exit from the EFL Cup against Crystal Palace before a hammering in North London on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur. Unai Emery’s side went into the break with the lead at the weekend only for Spurs to turn it on in the second half and give Villa their second league defeat. However, with the attention turning to the Champions League on Wednesday, the Villans will be hoping they can maintain their 100% record so far in this competition, you’d have got a few funny looks if you suggested Aston Villa would top the whole league phase after the first three games but here we are.

I think we’ll see Aston Villa take victory in this one, they should have too much for Club Brugge who have won just one of their last eight UCL games. Here you can find all our latest Champions League predictions.

Aston Villa are in dreamland at the summit of the UEFA Champions League table, can they continue to impress and stay put?

Bayern Munich v Benfica

It’s going to be some atmosphere at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening, as Bayern Munich take on Benfica in the UEFA Champions League. – Check out our UEFA Champions League odds.

Quite surprisingly, Bayern Munich enter matchday four of the UEFA Champions League all the way down in 23rd place having lost two of their first three games, with their one victory coming in their opening fixture. It’s been a tough start for Vincent Kompany in the UCL but you’d still expect the European giants to qualify out of the league phase, a victory here would put them back on track. Since their 4-1 thumping away to Barcelona, the Bavarians have won all of their last three games without conceding, scoring twelve goals in the process. Bayern Munich have a remarkable home record in the UCL, they’ve not lost any of their last seventeen games on home soil, their last defeat in Munich in this competition came back in 2021 against PSG.

Benfica had made the perfect start to this new UCL format, Bruno Lage’s side had won their first two games before welcoming Dutch side Feyenoord to Lisbon in their last outing. The Eagles were favourites to win that game but came up short and suffered a 3-1 defeat, leaving them thirteenth in the league phase after their first three games. Benfica have enjoyed success on the road in this competition, they’ve lost just twice in their last fourteen away games, although two of which have come in their last four games.

I think this will be an entertaining game with plenty of goals, Benfica’s last five UCL games have all produced at least three goals. Whilst Bayern Munich have won nine of their twelve meetings with the Portuguese side, I’m expecting them to make it ten. Here you can find all our Champions League tips.

Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back and get their UEFA Champions League campaign back on track as they hunt down those top eight places.

Crvena zvezda v FC Barcelona

Belgrade awaits for FC Barcelona as they take on Crvena zvezda at the Stadion Ralko Mitic on Wednesday evening in this UEFA Champions League battle.

Red Star Belgrade have made a great start to their domestic league campaign, they remain unbeaten after their first thirteen games with wins in twelve of them, giving them a huge advantage at the top already. However, they’ve really struggled in the UEFA Champions League so far, they remain one of the six teams that are yet to pick up a point after their first three games and have conceded a league-high of eleven goals, the last thing they need right now is a free-scoring Barcelona side.

Since their shock defeat to Osasuna back in September, Barcelona haven’t looked back. Hansi Flick’s side have won all six games since, a 4-1 victory against Bayern Munich was followed up with another impressive win, 4-0 away to Real Madrid in the Clasico.  They are looking so good at the moment and are becoming ruthless in front of goal, Barca have scored at least three goals in each of their last six outings, they’ll really be looking to get at this Red Star Belgrade defence.

I cannot see anything other than a Barcelona victory in this one and I think it’ll be a comfortable one, as they look to get themselves into the top eight of this league phase.

Barcelona have won this competition five times before, Hansi Flick will be hoping he can add to that total.

Inter v Arsenal

Arsenal will travel to Milan on Wednesday to face Inter in the UEFA Champions League at the iconic San Siro.

Inter have had a solid start to their campaign across all competitions, following their 1-0 victory against Venezia on Sunday evening, Simone Inzaghi’s side are just one point off Napoli at the top of Serie A after their first eleven games. Whilst in the UEFA Champions League, I Nerazzurri occupy on of those important top eight places in this league phase, they’ve already face Manchester City and with all due respect to Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys, this is much more of a test for Inter although they are unbeaten in their last ten UCL games on home soil, with victories in eight of them.

Arsenal suffered another setback in the Premier League on Saturday as they look to keep up with early leaders Liverpool and Manchester City, Mikel Arteta’s side travelled to Newcastle for the Premier League’s early kick-off last weekend but left with nothing to show for their efforts. This is the Gunners’ second trip to Italy already this season, they left Bergamo with a goalless draw in their first game of this campaign against Atalanta, they could struggle for goals again here in Milan given they’ve not scored in Italy in their last four attempts.

I think we can expect a close encounter on Wednesday evening at the San Siro, a stalemate wouldn’t be the worst result for either side.

Mikel Arteta will be dreaming of securing a first European trophy for Arsenal.

Paris Saint-Germain v Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid will make the trip to the French capital on Wednesday evening as they come head-to-head for the first time a competitive game against PSG.

PSG return to the Parc des Princes for this UEFA Champions League clash just two weeks since they were booed off the pitch following their surprising 1-1 draw with PSV. Luis Enrique’s side remain nineteenth in this UCL league phase having won, drawn and lost in their first three games. However, PSG enter this one unbeaten in their last five games, including consecutive victories in Ligue 1 against Marseille and Lens, but goals have been hard to come by in the Champions League, scoring just twice in their last five matches in the competition.

Atletico Madrid have had a tough start to this campaign, they currently sit in twenty-seventh place and outside of those play-off places. Diego Simeone’s side impressed in their first game with a 2-1 win against Leipzig but have struggled since, with defeats to both Benfica and Lille. The struggles could continue if recent records are anything to go by, Atleti haven’t won just one of their last ten away games in this competition, a 3-1 victory at Feyenoord back in November 2023.

I think we’ll see PSG just edge this one in a close game but I’m not expecting a classic between these two sides in their first competitive meeting.

This is the one that all PSG fans have been wanting their club to win but they have been made to wait, can Luis Enrique deliver the goods?

Football Predictions Thursday

Galatasaray v Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur can expect a hostile atmosphere at Rams Park on Thursday night as they face Galatasaray in the UEFA Europa League. – Check out our Europa League odds.

Galatasaray have really found some early form in this campaign, following their 2-1 victory over Besiktas in their last outing, Okan Buruk’s side have put together an 11-game unbeaten run since their two defeats to Young Boys in the Champions League, with victories in nine of them. They’ve already opened up a gap at the top of the Turkish Super Lig and remain the only side yet to face a league defeat. The Lion have also started strongly in the UEFA Europa League, winning two of their first three games and it really should have been three from three but they gave up a two-goal lead against Latvian side RFS to secure just a point.

Tottenham are one of the betting favourites to pick up the Europa League trophy this season, they’ve started the campaign well and remain just one of three sides (Lazio & Anderlecht) that have a 100% record so far. Spurs will travel to Istanbul full of confidence, Ange Postecoglou’s side beat Manchester City in the EFL Cup before beating Aston Villa 4-1 on Sunday despite being a goal behind at the break. There will be a slight concern given that Spurs have lost their last two games away from home, whilst the side from London have won just one of their three meetings against Turkish opposition.

We’ve got two fairly open sides here and I think we can expect goals and entertainment in Istanbul on Thursday evening.

Ange Postecoglou stated that he always wins silverware in his second season, Spurs will be hoping the Aussie can deliver in this competition.

Manchester United v PAOK

Greek side PAOK will travel to the ‘Theatre Of Dreams’ on Thursday evening as they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in the UEFA Europa League. – Check out our Europa League odds.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is the man in charge until Ruben Amorim’s arrival on Monday, the Manchester United legend led his side to an entertaining 5-2 victory over Leicester in the EFL Cup last week but it was more of the same on Sunday in their clash with Chelsea. The Red Devils have just found it difficult to put away their chances and after their first ten games in the Premier League, only Crystal Palace and Southampton have scored less goals. United’s struggles aren’t just in the Premier League, they enter this game twenty-first in the Europa League group and are yet to pick up a victory, with all three of their games ending in a stalemate, United haven’t won a European game in 12 months, their longest ever run.

PAOK will travel to Manchester knowing they need some points in this Europa League group just as much as their opponents. Răzvan Lucescu’s side sit thirtieth out of thirty-six after their first three games, they did manage to pick up their first point with two late goals in their last outing on home soil to Plzen. The Double-Headed Eagle tend to struggle on the road in this competition, having lost five of their last six UEL “proper” away games.

Despite their struggles, Manchester United should still have too much for PAOK and should claim their first victory in Europe in over a year on Thursday night.

Ruben Amorim will have his eyes on this competition once he takes the reins, that would be some welcome present.

The options for good value football predictions increase the closer we get to kick-off. Bookmakers make more markets available a day or two before the match, but you can place result and over/under wagers well in advance.
