Horse Betting Tips For Saturday

Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Newcastle and Cheltenham...

3.15 Newcastle – Dubai Honour (NAP)

Dubai Honour stayed on well to win the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud back in June and can take this Listed Churchill Stakes in his stride.

Once ranked in the world’s top five horses, the globetrotting Dubai Honour was last seen finishing second to Fantastic Moon at Baden Baden.

The German winner subsequently ran in the Arc at ParisLongchamp so the form line is strong.

Currently trading at odds of 9/4, I believe William Haggas’ charge to be one of the best bets of the day.

12.35 Cheltenham – My Noble Lord (NB)

The useful looking My Noble Lord can take another leap forward on Saturday by bringing home the silverware in the Grade 2 Prestbury Juvenile Hurdle.

The gelding ran well over middle distances on the Flat this summer, reeling off a hat-trick of wins and was soon snapped up by JP McManus and sent to Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero.

My Noble Lord duly won on debut on October 12th at Chepstow in the Champion Equestrian Juvenile Hurdle and looks like a horse that will be going places this season.

2.20 Cheltenham – In Excelsis Deo (E/W Longshot)

Largely forgotten in the betting, Harry Fry’s In Excelsis Deo can continue his run of good form at Cheltenham and come home in front in the former Mackeson Gold Cup at the weekend.

Winner of the Grade 2 Silver Trophy Handicap Chase at Cheltenham back in April, the six-year-old was last seen being pulled up in the Galway Plate in July, and that “P” appears to be putting many punters off him for this feature race.

I personally cannot see him being out of the first four if he’s back on song and he is my each-way recommendation.

Horse Betting Tips For Sunday

Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Cheltenham and Auteuil...

2.20 Cheltenham – Matata (NAP)

Matata goes particularly well at the start of each season, winning on his return to action in the October of 2022 and 2023 and was narrowly denied three weeks ago by Calico.

I fancy the six-year-old to reverse those places in this 2m Three Counties Christmas Handicap Chase, with the younger horse bouncing back to full fitness quicker than the Skelton nine-year-old.

It will already be Calico’s third run of the new campaign, whereas Matata will be building upon that cobweb duster 23 days ago. For win purposes, Matata looks a very strong bet .

2.35 Auteuil –  Juntos Ganamos (NB)

Il Est Francais will be all the rage in the betting to land the Prix la Haye Jousselin at Auteuil on Sunday, but I have a sneaky feeling we might see a turnover in the Grade 1 chase.

David Cottin’s Juntos Ganamos blotted his copy book back in May when he was sent off the favourite for the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, but before and after that unique race his jumping had been impeccable.

If there is any weakness in Il Est Francais’ stamina then this five-year-old Martaline-gelding can exploit it.

3.30 Cheltenham – Go Dante (E/W Longshot)

Barbara Hester’s best horse Go Dante returns to action today after wind surgery and I expect the eight-year-old to bounce right back to form in the Greatwood Hurdle.

Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen have been booting home the winners for fun in the last fortnight and this five-time winner is a very classy individual.

He won the Imperial Cup at Sandown last season and that is one of the toughest premier handicaps to land for sure.

Trading at odds of around 10/1, go Dante cannot be ignored in Sunday’s feature and is a solid each-way selection.
