One of the nation’s most successful athletes in the sport of rowing, Glover arrives in France having had a full-time training regime to mount a hopefully glorious comeback.

With such a storied career earning her the place as a flag-bearer in Paris, some want to know what Helen Glover’s net worth is in 2024. Here, we delve into the money and the accolades.

Salary & Funding

As a rower for Team GB, much of Glover’s funding to support her training and the trip to France will come from the Athlete Performance Awards.

Aimed at covering the costs of the sport and living expenses while competing, rowing is one of the World Class Programme sports that’s given additional funding.

For the 2024 Olympic Games, Team GB has earmarked £23,794,482 for its rowing athletes. With 42 of them going to Paris, if all’s divvied up evenly, Glover would be looking at a share of £566,535.29 to go towards costs.

The APA is funded by the National Lottery, but Team GB also receives funding from other sponsors. Aldi will remain the team’s Official Supermarket sponsor, which is said to be a multi-million-pound deal.

How Much is Helen Glover Worth?

Information about the famed rower’s salary, funding, and other earnings isn’t public knowledge, but most estimates of Helen Glover’s net worth land in the region of £1 million to £1.3 million.

With a full slate of training under her belt since coming out of retirement to challenge in Paris, Glover will certainly have a chance to enhance her net worth and, possibly, take up some endorsements after a podium finish.

Coming into the Games, she has the chance to become the first mum of three to win an Olympic medal (which is very marketable), with silver and bronze medals at the European and World Championships last year just being the warm-ups.

Whether she’ll be among the top picks for the coxless pairs in the Olympic tips is debatable, but she certainly has the experience and has had enough time to push for the podium.

Accolades and Records

When paired with Heather Stanning, Glover was all but unstoppable in the women’s coxless pairs. They set a world record together and collected an incredible haul of medals across the board – from the European stage to the Olympics.

She arrives in Paris with 20 gold medals in all major competitions. Two of those are Olympic gold medals, and the 2024 Games will mark her fourth Olympic outing.

Glover won her first accolade in 2009 in the senior single scull to claim the Bernard Churcher Trophy. At the 2012 London Games, she snagged her first Olympic gold and an Olympic record time for the coxless pair.

At the 2014 World Rowing Championships, the duo enhanced their time to forge a new world record in Amsterdam. In 2016, she won the gold again in Rio.

After Rio, Glover took time away from the sport to raise a family, getting back in the boat in 2021. With Polly Swann as her new partner, she powered to the European coxless pair title but fell to fourth in Tokyo.

Fully prepped and ready to go for Paris 2024, Glover and Swann will be aiming for the podium, but the Cornwall legend has a better shot in the sports betting odds in the women’s coxless fours as Team GB is undefeated this year.

Is Helen Glover Married?

Helen Glover is married. In September 2016, she got married to prominent naturalist and TV presenter Steve Backhall, and the two have three kids together.

Helping the rower’s net worth estimations will be her family home. She lives near Maidenhead in an idyllic house that has a balcony view of the docks and can look out to the River Thames.
