Juventus forward Federico Chiesa has battled with injuries throughout his career, but he has still managed to develop from highly regarded prospect into one of the better players in world football at his position.

A Genoa native, Chiesa started his career with Fiorentina before joining Juventus in 2022.

The Italian international has electric pace. He can single-handedly change the balance of a football betting encounter in the matter of seconds.

While his goal returns never make him one of the online betting favourites for top-scorer awards, Chiesa has a knack for delivering vital contributions when it matters most.

He might have arrived in Turin a few years after their prolonged spell of dominance, but the Italy international has still managed to pick up a fair amount of hardware throughout his career to date.

How Much Is Federico Chiesa Worth?

Federico Chiesa net worth is thought to be in the region of £10 million. Of course, it’s not like all of Chiesa’s finances are public knowledge. Some footballers boost their net worth considerably with smart investments. Others find ways to blow millions of pounds (or Euros).

While he will have been handsomely compensated during his time with Fiorentina, Chiesa is thought to have enjoyed a sizeable salary increase when he signed with Juventus. Initially spending two years on loan, he made his move to Turin permanent in 2022.

Endorsement income is inevitable for an Italian international. Chiesa will have plenty of revenue streams away from his sizeable wages.

One of those will be from his boot partnership – Chiesa donned the Nike Mercurial Vapor 15 Dream Speed 8 in the 2023-24 season. The Italian will have received a hefty sum from Nike to represent their brand.

Liverpool Rumours

Liverpool have long been admirers of Chiesa, according to GiveMeSport. The pacey forward always seemed like a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and the same will be true under the leadership of Arne Slot.

Mohamed Salah is nearing the end of his Liverpool career – it’s clear the Reds need to find a long-term replacement in the next couple of transfer windows.

Chiesa’s wages could be a roadblock to a potential Liverpool transfer. He could also be tempted to stay in Italy with Roma or Napoli – both clubs can offer a starting spot, while he will face fierce competition in Liverpool’s stacked forward line.

This a transfer saga likely to rumble throughout the summer. If Chiesa stars for Italy this summer, Juventus will be able to command a much bigger fee.

If Juventus and Chiesa are unable to reach an agreement on an extension, he will surely be on the market. Other clubs could swoop and outbid Liverpool, too. He’s a potential difference-maker for several elite European clubs.

Federico Chiesa Contract

Capology projects Federico Chiesa to earn around £170,000 per week. This would put Chiesa just outside the top-40 earners in the Premier League, and means he’s on roughly the same wage as Spurs playmaker James Maddison.

There is just 12 months left on Chiesa’s contract with Juventus, which is due to expire after the 2024-25 season. Reportedly, Chiesa’s father met with the club after the season to discuss a potential new deal.

The forward would potentially be open to adding one more year to his contract at his current salary, which would take some of the pressure off Juventus over the next few months.

Injury Troubles

An ACL tear against Roma in January 2022 changed the path of Federico Chiesa’s career. Not only did he miss almost a year, Chiesa had a long battle to regain match fitness and form once he returned.

Further physical issues have followed, including plenty of muscle fatigue and a couple of blips with knee soreness. Soon after his return to first-team football in November 2022, Chiesa spoke about the difficulties with such a long layoff.

“It’s nice to be here and get back to the routine of before. It’s been 10 endless months, in August when it seemed to be there the finish line at every training session I had knee problems.

“I had to do check-ups, I flew back to Innsbruck, the month of August was really terrible but with strength and tenacity and the people who loved me I got out of it and it took me two months to get back into shape, then coming back with the team and the call with PSG was the closing of a circle.”

Since the ACL injury, Chiesa has given glimpses of the player that starred for Italy at Euro 2020. He looked on course for Ballon d’Or contention. Instead, he has been in and out of the Juventus team with only 31 Serie A starts across the last two seasons.

At only 26 years old, there’s still time for Chiesa to reach his lofty potential, but he needs to a big couple of years to really get his career back on track.
