Football Predictions Friday

Denmark v Spain

The current UEFA Nations League & UEFA European Championship holders will travel to Copenhagen on Friday evening as Spain take on Demark. – Check out our UEFA Nations League odds.

Denmark still have a little bit of work to do in order to secure a place in the quarter-finals of this competition but things are looking good for Brian Riemer’s side. The Danes sit second and just three points behind Friday’s opponents having won two of their four games so far, both of which occurred on home soil which will be a boost for the Red and Whites ahead of this clash.

Spain’s unbeaten record continues and Luis de la Fuente’s side have already secured their place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage with two games left to play. They’ve won three of their first four games in the group stage after playing out a stalemate in their opener away to Serbia, it’s now fourteen games unbeaten for Spain across all competitions, it’s an impressive record especially during a European Championship campaign. La furia Roja will be without their talented winger Lamine Yamal following an ankle injury but simply avoiding defeat in this one would secure Spain that top spot in group A4.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi’s goal with just over 10 minutes left to play secured a 1-0 victory for Spain in their last meeting with Denmark last month, the Spanish have a really good record against the Danes having avoided defeat in their last eight meetings with victories in seven of those eight.

Spain will be hoping to make it consecutive UEFA Nations League outright winners, they have a real chance to do so under de la Fuente.

Portugal v Poland

The Estádio do Dragão in Porto is the venue for this one as Portugal take on Poland in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night.

Portugal are all but there in terms of securing their place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage, Lusos sit at the summit of group A1 with ten points after winning three of their first four games and playing out a surprising goalless draw away to Scotland in their last outing. A victory in this one for Roberto Martinez’s side would book their place in the next round with one game to spare, although simply avoiding defeat for A Seleção das Quinas could be enough if Croatia fail to beat Scotland.

Poland still have a slim chance of securing a quarter-final place themselves but they’ll likely need a victory here in Porto to do so, if the Eagles are to defy the betting odds in this one they’ll have to do it without all-time top scorer Robert Lewandowski with the Barcelona man looking to recover from a back injury he suffered during their 1-0 defeat in La Liga on Sunday evening, a big blow for Michał Probierz and co.

You’d expect Portugal to get themselves a fairly comfortable victory in this one, they’ve been in fine form of late and will be looking to bounce back from that disappointing draw in Glasgow last month. Portugal won the reverse fixture just over a month ago 3-1 away from home, we could see something similar in this one.

Winners of this competition back in 2019, Roberto Martinez will be hoping his side can reclaim the UEFA Nations League.

Scotland v Croatia

Croatia will travel to Glasgow on Friday night for this UEFA Nations League clash against Scotland at Hampden Park.

It’s been a really tough time for Steve Clarke and Scotland, they sit rock bottom of group A1 after picking up just one point from a possible twelve so far. That might have been expected following their promotion in league A but the real concern is their form going all the way back to September 2023. Steve Clarke’s side have won just one (v Gibraltar) in their last sixteen games, suffering defeat in ten of those which has put real pressure on the Scotland manager, there’s two games left of their UEFA Nations League campaign but it could be the last two games that Clarke has in charge of Scotland.

Croatia have got one foot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final, the occupy second place prior to this clash in Glasgow just three points behind league leaders Portugal. Avoiding defeat here could be enough for Zlatko Dalić’s side to secure their place in the next round if Poland fail to pick up anything from their visit to Porto.

I think we could be in for a close encounter in this one, Croatia have won their last two meetings with Scotland, including their 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture last month. However, the Blazers have never beaten Scotland away from home in their three attempts. I think we could be in for goals though, both nations have seen six of their last eight games produce both teams to score.

Runners-up in this competition last year, can Croatia defy the betting odds in this campaign?

Football Predictions Saturday

Turkey v Wales

The Kadir Has Stadium awaits as Turkey take on Wales in this UEFA Nations League clash on Saturday evening. – Check out our UEFA Nations League odds.

Turkey can confirm their promotion into Group A with a victory on Saturday evening, Vincenzo Montella’s side remain unbeaten in Group B4 with three wins from their first four games. The Crescent-Stars have been solid on home soil with wins in eight of their last eleven games played in Turkey, including a 2-0 victory over Saturday’s opponents back in June 2023.

Craig Bellamy has definitely steadied the Welsh ship after taking over Wales following the sacking of Rob Page. The Dragons are yet to suffer a defeat in Bellamy’s first four games in charge leaving them in a good position to claim a spot in the promotion play-off stage, whilst automatic promotion isn’t out of the question but they must avoid defeat here to take it into the final group game on Tuesday. It’s a big ask for Wales to win here though, given they’ve won just two of their last twelve games away from home.

These two sides have met three times since 2023, Turkey’s victory in June was then followed up with two stalemates. I fancy Turkey to take all three points in this one but Wales could make it difficult for the Crescent-Stars.

Can Craig Bellamy’s Wales side claim an automatic promotion spot in this UEFA Nations League?

Germany v Bosnia & Herzegovina

Germany will welcome Bosnia & Herzegovina on Saturday night in the UEFA Nations League at the Europa-Park Stadion in Freiburg.

Germany are just one of two nations (Spain) to have already secured a spot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage, whilst just avoiding defeat in this one should secure the top spot in Group A3 for Julian Nagelsmann side. Die Mannschaft have put their disappointing early exit from the European Championship’s behind them with three victories in their first four games in this group, with Nagelsmann looking to claim the UEFA Nations League trophy for the first time.

Bosnia & Herzegovina have really struggled recently, they’ve now lost nine of their last ten games across all competitions. Sergej Barbarez was brought in back in April to try and steady the ship a little but it’s not been working as of yet, the Bosnian is yet to see his side win. With just one point on the board for the Dragons, relegation looks a certainty unless they win their last two games, a huge ask.

I’ve got to agree with the betting market for this game, Germany shouldn’t have any issues in claiming their fourth victory of the campaign and securing top spot with a game to go.

Julian Nagelsmann will be hoping he can deliver the UEFA Nations League trophy for the first time in Germany’s history.

Netherlands v Hungary

Two sides battling it out for that important runners-up spot in Group A3 will battle it out on Saturday night as the Netherlands face Hungary at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam.

Before this campaign started, many expected the Netherlands to be challenging Germany at the top of the group but that hasn’t come to fruition and Ronald Koeman’s side head into the final two games with it all to play for. Oranje sit in second place but on level points with Saturday night’s opponents but if they are defeated on home soil, the Netherlands will miss out on the quarter-final stage and actually play a play-off game to stay in the “A side” of the competition.

Hungary know if they can defy the odds in this one, they’ll secure a spot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage, despite scoring just three goals in their first four games, it still all comes down to this for Magyars as any nations tied on points after six games will be separated by head-to-head as opposed to goal difference. Marco Rossi will be hoping his side can replicate their last performance away from home in which they beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 2-0, it’s a big ask but it’s not impossible.

These two sides played out a 1-1 draw last month, the Netherlands will take confidence from the fact they’ve beaten Hungary in their last four visits on home soil.

The Oranje will be looking to claim their first major trophy since 1988.

Of course, a value football prediction is no guarantee of the bet being a winner, but these are the kind of wagers all punters are after.

The options for good value football predictions increase the closer we get to kick-off. Bookmakers make more markets available a day or two before the match, but you can place result and over/under wagers well in advance.
