March 2025 - Upcoming Events
The conclusion to the 2025 Six Nations Rugby will bring plenty of top sporting drama to the month. Ireland, France and England are all still in the hunt for the title, and the crucial fixture of the run-in will be Ireland vs France in Round 4 on March 8th from Dublin. Ireland are seeking a historic third successive title and would be within touching distance of that with a victory over the French. England have to face Italy and Wales in their final matches.
March is also a big month for athletics. There will be many stars on show at the European Indoor Championships, which begin on Thursday, March 6th. This year’s edition is being held in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. Later in the month, the World Athletics Indoor Championship will take place in Nanjing, China starting on March 21st.
The 2025 Cheltenham Festival will dominate March’s horse racing action. The Festival runs from the 11th through to the 14th with the biggest names in the sport descending on the Gloucestershire track. Among the big feature races at the Festival, there’s Supreme Novices, the Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
In football, the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 kicks off on March 4th, with some fantastic ties lined up including Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen, PSG vs Liverpool and Real Madrid vs Atlético Madrid. The final of the ICC Champions Trophy cricket is another big event to look out for on March 9th.
